Privacy Policy for CleanSweep Mail

CleanSweep Mail (“the Extension”) is a Chrome extension developed by me, Sanjhai Prakash, a solo developer, to help users automatically clean Gmail Promotions, Social, and Spam emails with one click. This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use CleanSweep Mail.

1. Information I Collect

Google Account Information: When you sign in with Google, I access your basic profile information (name, email address, and profile picture) using OAuth2 authentication.

Gmail Data: With your consent, I access your Gmail account to read email counts and delete emails in the Promotions, Social, and Spam categories. I only request the minimum necessary Gmail API permissions:

• Read, modify, and compose Gmail messages
• Access your basic profile and email address

2. How I Use Your Information

• To display your Gmail statistics (counts of Promotions, Social, and Spam emails)
• To allow you to delete emails in bulk from specified categories
• To show your profile information within the extension UI
• To authenticate your Google account and maintain your session

3. Data Storage and Security

• Your authentication token and email counts are stored locally on your device using Chrome’s storage API.
• I do not store, transmit, or share your emails, account information, or authentication tokens with any external servers or third parties.
• All communication with Google APIs is encrypted via HTTPS.
• I implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

• I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
• I do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
• Your data is only used to provide and improve the core functionality of the extension.

5. User Control and Data Deletion

• You can revoke the extension’s access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account’s security settings.
• You may remove the extension from Chrome at any time.
• To clear locally stored data, use the extension’s sign-out or clear cache features.

6. Children’s Privacy

CleanSweep Mail is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact me and I will take steps to delete such information.

7. Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be posted within the extension and/or on the Chrome Web Store listing page. Please review this policy periodically for any updates.
